The Teamsters association says Canadian National Railway Co. has started to move laborers as a feature of an obvious move to move its rail traffic control focus to Edmonton from Montreal.

Teamsters Canada says in excess of 100 positions would be influenced at the inside, which handles most of rail traffic in Eastern Canada.

Rail traffic controllers are to trains what air traffic controllers are to planes, the association stated, clarifying they facilitate train developments over a given region and ensure faculty taking a shot at the tracks.

The association said CN has just started to move 20 rail traffic controller positions to Alberta's capital, not exactly a year after the laborers had been moved to Montreal from Toronto.

Teamsters president Francois Laporte says the Montreal-based railroad is "moving families the nation over like products on a train."

"A portion of these families had quite recently discovered schools and childcares for their kids in Montreal. You can't play with individuals' lives that way," Laporte said.

Association delegate Lyndon Isaak says CN could lose experienced staff and increment chance for railroaders, since leaving their networks may not be a possibility for a considerable lot of the influenced laborers.

"CN will wind up losing experienced staff and their insight into the rail organize, which could prompt hazardous circumstances for railroaders, track upkeep groups and the overall population," Isaak said.

CN has three rail traffic control focuses, in Montreal, Edmonton and the one in Toronto which Teamsters said the organization is shutting.
